Dr. Paul F. Aravich (Past Speaker)

Paul Aravich, Ph.D., is neuroscientist, award-winning educator, and behavioral health advocate at Eastern Virginia Medical School. His distinctions include one of the highest awards for medical education in the US and Canada and Virginia’s highest faculty award for research, teaching and service.  He has presented to various Congressional Caucuses (Brain Injury, Neuroscience, Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-and-Math, and Public Health) and to various Virginia General Assembly entities, including the Joint Commission on Health Care.  Dr. Aravich currently serves on an interagency strategic planning committee for Virginia’s Veterans and is the former head of the Virginia Brain Injury Council and the Virginia Public Guardian and Conservator Advisory Board.  He sits on the boards of several regional behavioral health, brain injury, and art and medicine organizations.  He can be found on the TEDx YouTube channel, and on WETA’s BrainLine and BrainLine Military web sites and the Richmond, Va., NPR web site.
